How the SiLaC® Method Works

The procedure involves the use of a radial-emitting laser fiber, which is gently inserted into the cleaned sinus tract. Controlled laser energy is then delivered to:

  • Destroy the epithelial lining of the sinus.

  • Seal off the sinus tract, and

  • Promote healing from the inside out.

This leads to the gradual closure of the sinus cavity, reducing the risk of recurrence and promoting natural tissue regeneration.

Advantages of SiLaC®

  • Minimally invasive – no large surgical wounds

  • Low postoperative pain

  • Faster recovery and return to daily activities

  • Excellent cosmetic outcome—no large scars

  • Low risk of infection and complications

Who is a candidate for SiLaC®?

SiLaC® is suitable for most patients with chronic or recurrent pilonidal sinus, especially those looking for a less traumatic alternative to traditional surgery. A thorough consultation with a qualified coloproctologist is essential to determine eligibility.
